Grace does not equal mercy

Grace equals undeserved favour.

My computer's dictionary says that grace is:

2 (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

So why are we only limiting it to salvation? What about life and the here and now!
